Scott Edwards; skipper for Netherlands said the Netherlands squad can always rely on Tim Pringle; all-rounder cricketer, after beating the UAE in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The Netherlands Cricket Team defeated UAE by three wickets in Group-A match at Simonds Stadium in Geelong.
Scott Edwards compliment Tim Pringle after the game winning, saying that he is incredibly mature for his age and that the team can always count on him.
“He exhibits a lot of maturity for a man who is only 20. He has been doing it all summer long, and today is just another illustration of the top-notch cricketer he is.”
“Whenever he’s bowling, you can depend on him. There will always be the same four overs. He will secure them by obtaining a few wickets. He is very adept at playing his part,” Scott Edwards said.
The Netherlands captain claimed that although Pringle was a strong man, he was unable to score against the UAE.
“He is a strong man with his batting. He didn’t quite land all of the powerful shots he had hoped for today. But after the first few balls, he remained composed,” Edwards maintained.
The 26-year-old said the team’s strategy was to extend the innings as much as possible because he knew scoring opportunities would present themselves later.
“It was just about taking it as deep as we could. It felt like we could keep it up at a run-a-ball. They obviously had to bowl out their better bowlers early. So we knew at the back end, we would have opportunities to score if we needed to,” said Edwards.
The Netherlands will now face Namibia on October 18, followed by a match against 2014 T20 World Cup champions Sri Lanka on October 20.
