Ricky Ponting: Kohli To Break Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 Centuries Record

The former Australian captain claims he has never seen a better white-ball player than Kohli. “Not sure I’ve seen a better white-ball cricketer than Virat Kohli ever,” said Ponting via 7Cricket.

Ponting has stated that the hitter should never rule out the prospect of beating Tendulkar’s century record. Ponting stated that now that Kohli has regained his will to score runs, it would not be an insurmountable task for him.

“Look, I’ll never say never with Virat, because you know once he gets on a bit of a roll, you know how hungry he is and how keen for success he is. I’ll never say never that’s for sure,” After Kohli snapped a 1020-day drought and struck his 71st century, the two-time Australian World Cup winner stated.

“I still think he has got a number of years ahead of him, but I guess to still be 30 international hundreds behind, that’s a lot. That’s five or six Test hundreds a year, maybe for the next three or four years. If you throw a couple of one-day ones, maybe the odd T20 ones on top of it,” the 47-year-old added.

Notably, Virat Kohli has been in excellent communication since returning from a vacation. He finished Asia Cup 2022 as the second-highest run-getter.

The 33-year-old maintained his excellent form in India’s bilateral series against Australia and South Africa. The former India captain now has the duty of providing India with middle-order consistency in the T20 World Cup in 2022.
