IND vs SA 2nd Match: Suryakumar Yadav Renewing T20I New World Record Surpassing Glenn Maxwell

As India built a massive score of 237/3 in 20 overs, Suryakumar, who has been in exceptional form lately, slammed a half-century in only 18 balls and went on to score 61 runs in the game off just 22 deliveries.
India scored a 16-run victory to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match series thanks to his explosive knock and all-around performance from the top four.
Suryakumar hit the ball well and also became the third-fastest Indian to 1,000 runs in T20Is (by innings). Suryakumar reached the milestone in his 31st innings, behind only KL Rahul and Virat Kohli in terms of achievement.

The 32-year-old great batter, though, did so the quickest in terms of the number of balls faced.
Glenn Maxwell of Australia, an all-rounder, was surpassed by Suryakumar to set a new record. Maxwell scored the 1000th T20I run on his 604th delivery; Suryakumar, on the other hand, did so in just 574 balls.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, congratulated Suryakumar after their victory over South Africa and said, jokingly, that he might not play him again until their T20 World Cup opener against Pakistan.
“Just thinking not to play him anymore; just play him on the 23rd (of October, when India opens their World Cup campaign against Pakistan),” Rohit said of the in-form batsman, who hit his third successive half-century.
“He is somebody who wants to play the game, wants to keep going out there and keep doing well. That is what keeps him happy and we want to keep him happy.”
