“It’s a huge honour and privilege to take on this role, one that I am incredibly excited about,” Wright said. “With the Ashes and ICC Men’s 50-over World Cup next year, I can’t wait to get started and try to contribute after what has been a fantastic year for England men’s cricket.” Luke stated.

With the ashes competition between England and Australia just around the corner, it would be beneficial if Ed Smith and Luke Wright together to train the players and select the best ones out of them to outperform the opposing team. Moreover, the much important competition in the one-day international world is also very near. It will be held in 2023 and so it makes this time very critical for Luke Wright to guide the players and select the best ones.

Luke Wright has a successful cricket career of 20 years in both batting and bowling. He was a major contribution to England winning the T20 World cup in 2010 by beating Australia in the final. In addition to the previous, he also has played more than 400 matches for Sussex in all formats. Luke has over 5000 plus run when he played for Sussex alone, and has won the titles of pro40 titles in 2008 and 2009.

In total, Luke has an excellent cricketing record with a total o 101 games for England which includes 50 One day international games and 51 T20 International games. His debut match was against Zimbabwe in 2007. Luke Wright could have made an excellent test career too due to his explosive batting style but he just remained a king of the white ball game. That’s probably one of the reasons why the English Cricket Board gave him the position of a selector before the 50 Overs upcoming world cup.

“It’s an exciting time for England men’s cricket, but with the Ashes and the ICC Men’s 50-over World Cup next year there is a lot of hard work ahead if we are to build upon what has been an exciting year.”

Wright has spent the past two winters in New Zealand, coaching Auckland and playing a role in the national squad’s limited-overs set-up, and will finish his time there before starting his selector role at the end of March, in time for the start of the English season.

In addition to the above, Luke Write has played in multiple other leagues such as the Bangladesh premier league, Indian premier league, Pakistan Super League, and the Abu Dhabi T10. He is known the be the pioneer of white ball cricket, and that’s why some say he should have been selected as the selector before the T20 Series. Luke Wright was in New Zealand and has been training in Auckland for the past 2 winters. However, he will be over with it and will join the English Cricket team soon. Most experts in the cricket world say that Luke Wright will prove very beneficial for the team due to his experience in county cricket. He is well aware of all the opposing teams and so can be decisive for the English cricket team. It surely will give them an edge over the other teams in the upcoming tournaments.
