Team India Twitter Reaction: Virat Kohli Twitter “Disappointed in Our Hearts” After Semi-Final Defeat by England

Team India Twitter Reaction to exit from T20 World Cup Semi-Final

Friday an heartful note shared by India’s Star batter; Virat Kohli after India’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup fell out from the T20 Semi-final. Kohli, who leads the scoring charts in the tournament, amassed 296 runs from six games at an average of 98.66. Kohli hit four half-centuries in the tournament, including a 50 against England in the semi-final, which India lost by 10 wickets at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday. Taking to Twitter, Kohli said that while the players head back home with a lot of “disappointment”, the team can take a few positives from the tournament and bounce back strongly.

Even though Virat Kohli did everything in his power to win the ICC T20 title—scoring a huge number of runs, helping his team defeat Pakistan in front of a sold-out MCG crowd, and supporting Rohit Sharma after stepping down as captain—his dream was dashed when England eliminated India from the T20 World Cup in 2022. The rejuvenated Virat Kohli, who celebrated his 34th birthday this past weekend, went on a run-scoring rampage in the Super 12 stage, scoring 246 runs in five innings, including three match-winning unbeaten half-centuries, for a mind-blowing tournament average of 123.

Team India Twitter Reaction: Virat Kohli Twitter Message to Fans After Team India Fell Out in Semi-Final

Virat Kohli in his latest Twitter post today thanked the Indian fans who came to support the side and also shared his disappointment in getting short of achieving their dream of winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

“We leave Australian shores short of achieving our dream and with disappointment in our hearts but we can take back a lot of memorable moments as a group and aim to get better from here on.

Thank you to all our fans who turned up in huge numbers throughout to support us in the stadiums. Always feel proud to wear this jersey and represent our country”, Kohli tweeted.

On November 10, India and Kohli were given another chance to end the ICC knockout curse. Kohli rose to the occasion with his fourth fifty of the competition, but the Indian bowlers played poorly in defense of 169 as England openers Alex Hales and Jos Buttler made a mockery of the chase, finishing it with four overs to spare.

Virat Kohli has been through a lot over the past ten years, but he has always come back stronger than before. The Indian hero led the side to victory in every T20 World Cup, becoming the tournament’s leading run-scorer in 2014, 2016, and 2022. But in the knockout stages of every ICC, the team stumbled exactly when it mattered. In terms of the shorter form of the game, Virat Kohli has reached the end of his career. However, when coach Rahul Dravid was questioned about the future of senior players Rohit Sharma, Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Ravichandran Ashwin in T20I cricket in the wake of India’s World Cup exit, he said that it is “not the right time to talk about or think about this stuff now.”

Team India Twitter Reaction: After India’s T20 World Cup Exit KL Rahul Drops Broken Heart Emoji on Twitter

India opening batter KL Rahul, who struggled with the bat in the tournament, also reacted to the team’s exit with a ‘heartbreaking’ emoji.

Suryakumar Yadav, who was India’s second highest run-getter after Kohli, also penned an emotional note after India’s hopes of reaching the final were dashed by England.

“Hurtful loss. Forever grateful to our fans who create electrifying atmosphere, no matter where we play. Thankful for the undying support for each other, proud of the hardwork put in by this team & support staff. Proud to play for my country. We will reflect &come back stronger!” Suryakumar tweeted.

In the match between India and England, the latter won the toss and opted to bowl first.

India posted 168/6 in 20 overs, owing to knocks of 63 and 50 by Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli respectively.

However, the bowlers had no answers for the England onslaught, and Buttler and Hales propelled England to a comfortable win. England will now take on Pakistan in the final of the T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday.
