BCCI – India Cricket Team Bowling Problem: With the end of the year 2022, it doesn’t seem all good for the Indian cricket team. Let us look at the yearly overview of the team and see where they did not achieve what they were supposed to.
First of all, let us talk about the T20 World Cup that was held just a few weeks ago. Before the world cup even started, most experts in the game thought that India would easily win the World Cup or atleast reach the finals. However, they did not win the semi-finals and were eliminated.
If we look at the overall performance, we can see that the bowling side was exceptionally weak. In comparison to the Indian batting lineup, the bowling lineup was very weak.
It is because even if the match was rough, the batsmen kept on scoring runs. On the other hand, the bowlers seemed to have given up or were just not having the energy to deal with the match.
After losing to the World Cup, they had an immediate series with the Asian rivals, the Bangladeshi cricket team. India is touring Bangladesh for a few t20 international matches along with some test matches and some one-day international matches.
A total of three ODI matches will be held out of which two of them have been played by both teams, out of those three matches, Bangladesh has won two and is now looking for a whitewash to win the third match of the series too.
In addition to the above, the bowlers have suffered from multiple injuries that were followed by much uncertainty in the team management. After the loss in the t20 World Cup, members of the team management were changed.
In addition to the above, it seems that India is trying out a lot of bowlers and selecting which one performs better than the other. It is evident that if a player doesn’t perform well, his chances to play in the next match are drastically reduced.
Their experienced bowling attack is what led to their losses against Bangladesh, and they need to fix this problem well before the world cup to win it, or else they will have to face a loss in their own country.
However, some players in the Indian cricket team can bowl well. On the first one-day international match, Bangladesh was reduced to 136 for nine wickets. The Indian bowlers had to defend a low score made by the batsmen. However, in the end, they couldn’t get hold of Mehdy because he scored a sensational half-century to take Bangladesh to a win.
In the second one-day international match, the Bangladeshi batsmen were 69 for 6, but that didn’t last very lost. It is because when Mehdy Hassan came to bat, he scored 100 runs against the Indian team and helped them win against the opponents. Additionally, it was the first time in cricket history that a batsman playing at number 8 scored a century in a one-day international match.
Moreover, the Indian coach Rahul Dravid thought that since most of their bowlers are suffering from injuries and aren’t able to play at their level best, they are losing easy matches. However, the team management and the players are hopeful that the Indian cricket team will return to its form and be ready for the upcoming world cup. So far there are loopholes in the Indian cricket team, both on the bowling and batting side when key players such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not performing.
