The second Test Match between India and Bangladesh was as exciting as it gets. Bangladesh conceded a significant first innings lead but came back very well to put India in trouble in their final innings. However, Ashwin and Iyer rescued India as the visitors won the match by 3 wickets. Here is a brief recap of the thrilling match between India and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh’s First Innings | India vs. Bangladesh | Second Test Match 2022:
After winnings the toss, Bangladesh had chosen to bat first on a tricky pitch in Mirpur. The Bangladeshi players expected the ball to turn significantly on 3rd and 4th day. Therefore, they chose to bat first. However, the decision did not exactly go their way as they were dismissed for 227 runs in their first innings. It was a par-score on the wicket. Mominul Haq top scored with 84 runs. No other batter scored a fifty.
India’s First Innings | India vs Bangladesh | Second Test Match 2022:
India had a challenging start to their first innings. They lost wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 94/4 as Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Pujara got out cheaply. Bangladesh could have restricted India to a small total at that point.
However, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer counter attacked and quickly took the score to more than 250. Pant made 93 while Iyer scored 87 runs. India finished their first innings at 314 and had taken an important 87 run lead in the first innings.
Bangladesh’s Second Innings:
Bangladesh started poorly in their second innings. They kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and got all-out for 231 runs. Litton Das attacked the India bowlers and scored 73 runs in 98 balls. On the other hand, Zakir Hasan also scored a half-century to give India a target of 145 runs.
India’s Chase of 145 runs:
India needed 145 runs to win the second test match and the series. However, they had a rocky start to their innings. KL Rahul got out for 2, Shubman Gill made 7, Pujara made only 6 while Kohli scored only 1 run. India were 45/4 at the end of Day 3, needing another 100 runs with six wickets in hand.
The fourth day of the test match was a fascinating one as Bangladesh started well to restrict India to 74/7 as Axar Patel, Rishabh Pant, and Jaydev Unadkat got out on the fourth morning. India needed another 71 runs to win with only three wickets remaining. Shreyas Iyer and Ashwin were at the crease. Ashwin took the charge and made 42 runs to take India to a win. Iyer remained not out on 29 runs.
India won the match by three wickets and took the series 2-0.
