India vs Bangladesh – The centurion from the previous game Zakir Hasan opened the batting for Bangladesh with Najmul Hossain. Jaydev Unadkat provided India with the first breakthrough as he dismissed the young Zakir Hasan for 15. Bangladesh were 39/1 in 15 overs. In the very next over, Ashwin dismissed Najmul as Bangladesh lost two wickets in three balls.
Mominul Haq and Shakib ul Hasan had a small partnership but Shakib was dismissed by Umesh Yadav for 16. Mominul Haq stook firm on one end while wickets kept falling at the other.
Shakib got out for 16, Mushfiqur Rahim made 26, Litton Das scored 25, and Mehedi Hasan scored 15 runs. Bangladesh were 213/5 but got all out for 227 as their tail did not wag. Mominul Haq top scored with 84 runs, as Bangladesh got all out for 227 runs in 73.5 overs.
Umesh Yadav picked up 4 wickets for 25 runs while Ravi Ashwin also sent 4 batters home. The fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat picked up 2 wickets on his return to international Cricket.
Indian openers played cautiously in response as they had 8 overs to play till stumps. Shubman Gill looked in fine touch as he made 14 runs from 20 balls. KL Rahul scored 3 runs in 30 balls. India went to stumps at 19/0. India still trail by 208 runs.
India would want to bat well and get a big first innings lead while Bangladesh would hope to dismiss the Indian batters quickly and get an upper hand. It would be interesting to see how the game progresses. Bangladesh had the advantage of the toss but the Indian bowlers did well to restrict Bangladesh.
