Messi and Alvarez Impressive Performance taking Argentina to Qualifies in for the Final:
FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar has stunned one and all as the unexpected turn of events made it an unbelievable edition of the Qatar World Cup 2022.
After all the unexpected results and upsets, France, Morocco, Croatia, and La albiceleste (Argentina) found themselves in the semi-finals of the Qatar World Cup 2022. Thus, the two finalists of the World Cup Final were joined by Argentina and the underdogs Morocco.
The first semi-final of the Qatar World Cup 2022 was played between Croatia and Argentina. It was unexpected in so many ways. La albiceleste had a relatively easier and simpler path to the semi-finals while Croatia had beaten the mighty Brazil to qualify for the semi-finals.
It was a match between Luka Modric’s Croatia and Messi’s La albiceleste. Perhaps Real Madrid and Barcelona fans can better understand and feel this matchup.
All eyes were on the crucial world cup semi-final that would end the world cup dream for one of these two legends and take the other legend one step closer to the world cup glory.
As the game started, Croatia looked well-settled and retained the possession for most of the first 20 minutes of play. It looked like they had come with a proper plan and would give a tough time to La albiceleste.
However, the 33rd minute of play saw Alvarez attacking the Croatian goal post as he came one-on-one against the keeper. The keeper charged and a certain goal was averted.
The interesting bit about this was that Referee found the challenge wrong and showed a yellow card to Livakovic. La albiceleste received a penalty that Messi impressively converted into the first goal of the semi-final.
Argentina were 1-nil up in the 34th minute of play. Five minute later, La albiceleste converted a chance into a goal again as Alvarez scored from a close range to make it 2-0 for Argentina. The scoreline remained the same till the half time. In the second half of play, Croatia made multiple attempts to score and reduce the deficit.
The 69th minute of play featured another magical moment from majestic messi who toyed with the Croatian defence to assist Alvarez in scoring the third goal of the match for La albiceleste. His magical ball control set up a beautfil goal that was wonderfully finished by Alvarez.
La albiceleste were leading by 3-0 and the magical goal from Messi sealed the World Cup Final berth for Argentina. The game finished at 3-0 as Argentina qualified for the final.
La albiceleste will face France in Qatar World Cup Final.
