The Indian Paces Muhammad Shami has reportedly been taken out of the one-day international series of India with Bangladesh. An insider source from the Indian cricket team said that during training sessions, Shami got injured and was taken to the medics. It was reportedly a hand injured that he received after falling. Furthermore, some say that it was due to a ball being hit on the hands.
Moving on, this isn’t the first time Shami has received an injury before the start of an important series. It has happened before too. In addition to the above, during the world cup that just finished, Shami was seen suffering and couldn’t perform as he was supposed to. It may be due to fitness issues or because he just needs to retire now!
After the T20 Cricket world cup took place and India returned after a defeat from the Australians, Shami was injured once again. Shami is a great bowler according to the captain Rohit Sharma and can take quick wickets. On top of that, he also has experience and can swing the ball very well. As a result, he can prove to be very precious in the upcoming test series too, but that doesn’t seem to be happening.
An insider source from the Indian cricket team said that since the injured of Shami has occurred, he won’t be able to recover on time and this can affect his presence in the one-day international matches as well as the test series. The test series initiate on the 14th of December and that is just 2 weeks which is not enough to fully recover.
Moreover, medical experts in the field of cricket say that after the injury, a player needs to rest. So even if Shami recovers on time, he won’t be able to rest which increases the risk of another injury. In addition to the above, it will also affect his performance on the field.
Shami has not traveled with the team which departed on 1st December narrated by a BCCI board member to the PTI. Shami is originally from Bengal and started playing with the Indian cricket team in his teen years.
The strategy set by the Indian Captain Rohit Sharma and the head coach of the Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid, Muhammad Shami is an integral part. As a result, missing him out on the crucial series against Bangladesh and the test series can be a loophole.
Additionally, the International Cricket World Cup is coming up next year in 2023 and so the Indian cricket team will have to try their level best to win every match to reflect their performance. Furthermore, it is also important to note that Shami will be playing with the Indian cricket team in the world cup as their star pacer. The series with Bangladesh would have been the perfect way for Muhammad Shami could have improved his game as he has struggled with keeping the ball on the line.
In addition to the above, a reliable source said that the Indian cricket team isn’t upset or worried about Shami not going for the day international series against Bangladesh, but instead, they are quite worried about him not playing in the test series.
Most experts in team management say that Jasprit Burma could be a great replacement for Shami, but that wouldn’t just work out. As a result, they will not have to see what bowler will they choose to replace Shami as he is the ideal bowler for test cricket by taking 216 wickets from just 60 games.
