BCCI Shortlisted ODI World Cup 2023 Players: The new year 2023 brings more challenges for India’s national cricket team. The schedule for the team has been uploaded, yet recent changes were made in the squad for better performance. BCCI announced the group of twenty players for the ODI world cup tournament.
Moreover, it has been declared that players who will participate in ODI and ICC T20 World cup will Skip their performance in IPL matches. This decision was made so that players would concentrate more on ICC and ODI tournaments. Also, to avoid injuries, they will skip IPL matches.
Also, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah ensures that BCCI will work on the national team to show a better performance than their performance in the 2022 World Cup Matches. BCCI has also shortlisted the twenty players who will perform in the ICC world cup tournament, which will be held in October 2023.
The review performance meeting was held in a 7Star hotel in Mumbai on Sunday. The primary purpose of this meeting was to discuss team India’s failure in T20 World Cup. In the semi-finals of the T20 World cup, India was dominated by the England team by ten wickets.
Team India won the last World cup in 2011 when M.S Dhoni represented the team India as Captain. Later on, the performance of team India was underwhelmed in the coming years. Similarly, the year 202 also failed in the T20 World Cup and the Asia cup 2022.
The BCCI made this decision during a meeting in a 7Star Mumbai hotel, in which they discussed the overall performance of the Indian cricket team. Coach Rahul Dravid, Captain Rohit Sharma, Chairman of NCA VVX Laxman, and ex-chief selector Chetan Sharma were in the Mumbai Hotel live meeting. On the Other Hand, Board President Roger Bunny attended the meeting through video conference.
In this meeting, important decisions were made for the Indian cricket team. According to the schedule announced by the BBCI team, India has to play thirty-five ODI matches in the year 2023. The year begins with three ODI games against Srilanka. In these matches, India will be the host country and welcome Srilanka to play matches in the motherland, India.
To ensure players’ fitness, NCA has announced that in 10 franchises of IPL, a group of NCA will work to maintain the fitness of players participating. The BCCA performance review meeting discussed team India’s failure in Asia and the T20 World cup. BCCI uploaded the critical points of the discussion in the Mumbai hotel in an official announcement.
