India Against South Africa Squad: Matt Renshaw is more than delighted to make his return to playing test cricket for the Australian test cricket after nearly five years off from playing the sport. He has no concerns regarding his fitness and is very determined to make an impression by performing in front of the fans and his team and coaches.
But it will only be possible if he is selected for the test cricket starting line with the initiation of the Australian test match against the South African side that begins on Wednesday.
The Australian player has been involved in only eleven test cricket matches since and scoring a maximum amount of runs 184. The last time he made an appearance in white clothes was before the sandpiper episode back in 2018.
Several injuries to key Australian players such as Mitchell Starc and crucial all-rounder Cameron Green resulted in him being drafted into the squad for playing the final test match against the Proteas. Matt Renshaw’s return is the result of his consistently incredible performances in the past.
The player managed to put on a great performance for the side of Queensland and the Sheffield Shield and also scored a century while playing for the Prime minister XIs against the side of the west Indians that we held in November.
While speaking to SEN on Monday, Matt Renshaw added that he was delighted to be a part of the final test match of the summer time before the team takes off on several tours.
The player added that he is not yet looking forward to being included in playing a test match series against the Indian task. It was the least of these concerns and is more focused on performing the match that lies ahead of him.
Matt Renshaw is hopeful that due to his recent training, he will be able to perform. Moreover, a few technical changes have also given him confidence and ensured that there is a high chance of him clicking on the match.
Matt also added that one that he learned in cricket is not to count his chickens out. He will keep on trying to get into the squad and even if he is not allowed play in the team, he will play whatever role he has to help the team get the win.
The Australian test cricketer added that one of the things that will favor his performance in the upcoming matches is the change in his mindset.
He has indicated that he has developed into a more mature individual both as a person and as a human being. The player added that he has come a long way to where he is now and he is hopeful that it will benefit him in the future in terms of his cricketing career.
The Australian batsman has an average score of nearly 33.47 in matches and has managed to accumulate a score of 184 his highest in a single match which was against the side Pakistan held in Sydney in 2017.
Finally, the batsman concluded his statement by stating that it is a tough job for most 20-year-old players to be in an environment with an international player of such caliber.
He further stated that apart from representing Australia at an international level, the hardest part about his job was all the media appearances and all the additional stuff that comes along with representing Australia at an international level. However, the player believes that he will soon get over it.
