Indian Super League – Kerala Blasters FC Spectacular Win Against Odisha FC: A great game of football between the two strong football teams but there was only one survivor. Out of the two teams, Kerala Blasters was the one that emerged victorious as they won the game by scoring one winning goal against the opposing team Odisha FC.
The Indian super league has been a great source of entertainment for the local people and the enthusiasm could be seen when the match was played on the 26th of December on Monday in the Jawahar Laal Nehru stadium. Let us talk a little about what happened in the game.
During the first half, it could be seen that Kerala blasters would conceive a goal by the opposing team as it was evident that their defense was very weak. In addition to the above fact, the team management as well as the captain did not plan the attack very well which is the reason why the opposing team managed to take the ball in their box most of the time.
It allowed Odisha FC to take more shots on target and increased their chance of scoring a goal. Furthermore, the experts of the game say that it was clear that the first half of the game was dominated by Odisha FC. It is because they had more possession. Some experts of the game say that Odisha FC had 60% possession and that left the Kerala blasters with only 40% possession.
It sure is a matter of worry in such an important game between two strong teams. However, the above-stated situation only lasted in the first half.
Once the 45-minute timer was up, the first half was over and both teams went inside to discuss the situation with their respective coaches. After the second half started, the performance of the Kerala blasters changed as if a new team had stepped into the game.
They started to defend more fiercely and attacked with even more planning and skill to ensure they land a few goals. The yellow tigers tried their best to score the goal, but things weren’t going as planned. The strikers used to kick on target, but the ball seemed to land behind the net and not inside the net.
After a while, Marko Leskovic received a beautiful pass and had a golden chance to score the goal, but he missed. The missed chance brought an additional level of frustration amongst the team players on the field as well as off the field.
However, in the end, their struggle and hard work were rightfully awarded as they managed to score one goal and take the lead from the opposing team Odisha FC. The player who scored the goal was Sandeep Singh.
He scored a wonderful goal and was under extreme pressure when just 4 minutes remained until the 90 minutes timer was over. If this goal hadn’t been scored, it would have led to extra time and eventually penalties.
However, the game ended soon with Kerala blasters as the clear winners. After the game, a reporter interviewed the owner of the team Ivan Vukomanovik. Ivan said that it was their most important game of the tournament, and before the game even started, he reminded his players repeatedly of how important the game is.
He further added, that it’s a great win for the boys, and he hopes that the team will give similar performances in the future. Ivan also pointed out an important fact the opposing team seemed overconfident as they were the favorite to win this match. He was aware of it and planned accordingly, and took advantage of their overconfidence to win the game.
