Rohit Sharma T20I: There has been a discussion all over India that Hardik Pandya should be the Captain of the Indian Squad instead of Rohit Sharma. But Rohit Sharma stated that he would not give up on T20 tournaments. After the World cup T20 series held in 2022, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have yet to participate in the subsequent T20 games against Srilanka, which India represents as a host, and against New Zealand away.
Rohit declares that the squad’s schedule is hectic, and the team has to play several series in 2023. So, he has to organize the team in such a way that team will be able to manage the pressure. Rohit also said that Rohit and Virat might miss the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand again.
Rohit said: we declared in the past that the upcoming year would be the year of the ODI World cup series. But some of the players can only perform in some patterns of the game. We have to play back-to-back matches, which is quite tricky for some players. So, we managed the schedule and organized the team so some players would need rest, and I am also listed as one player who needs rest.
Rohit told in the interview held on the evening of the First ODI game against Srilanka.
There will be 6 T20 tournaments in 2023. The first three series were against Srilanka, and the upcoming T20 series is against New Zealand. We have to prepare boys for IPL matches as well. After that, we will decide what to do, but still, I have no plans to give up on T20Is.

Rohit also disclosed that Shubman Gill stays in the lead because his performance in the previous innings was brilliant compared to Ishan Kishan. Although Ishan had scored a double hundred, that was a challenging task. Still, in other games, Ishan only scored 267 runs. The overall average is 33.37.
Shubman was the highest scorer in the previous year’s overall innings. Gill scored 687 runs at a strike rate of 102.57. The overall average score of the gill is 70.88. Rohit Sharma said that despite Ishan’s double hundred, Gill has a brilliant performance record in the previous match history. We decided to give a chance to gill in the upcoming series.
But Rohit also ensures that Ishan’s performance is significant for the team. Also, Ishan is an outstanding batsman for the team India.
