Pakistan and Afghanistan T20I Series in Marhc: PCB will include some new faces in the Pakistan Cricket team for the upcoming T20 series. This T20I tournament comprises three-day match series between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Resources reported that there is a chance for Azam Khan, Imad Wasim and Usama Mir to participate in the T20I series against Afghanistan in the Pakistan Cricket team.
Some senior players who have been playing cricket for Pakistan may get a chance to rest in these T20I series. Imad Wasim and Azam Khan have scored second, and third-highest runs in the PSL season 8. Usama Mir has 4th position in the list of highest wicket-takers in the Pakistan Super League.
For the upcoming series Pakistan vs. Afghanistan, the best batter and highest scorer Azam Khan will get a chance to participate with the national squad. Imad Wasim is the best all-rounder in the PSL series. Also, Azam Khan and Imad Wasim have saved second and third positions on the list of the highest scorers in Pakistan Super League season 8.
On the other hand, Usama Mir has taken the highest number of wickets, with a record of 9 in the Pakistan Super League series. Usama Mir will also get a chance to play in the National squad against Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board will appoint a coaching team for the T20I series against Afghanistan. Before these T20I series, when Pakistan played matches against New Zealand, Saqlain Mushtaq was appointed head coach for team Pakistan. And Shuan Tait was the bowling coach of the Pakistan Cricket team, but their contract ended in February 2023.
Additionally, Mohammad Yusaf was appointed as the national team’s batting coach under Rameez Raja’s administration. He is appointed as the permanent batting coach of NHPC for the national squad in Lahore.
Afghanistan and Pakistan had played different match series. Both teams are strong competitors and give tough times to each other on the field. Now there is a chance again to compete with each other in the upcoming T20 20I tournament that will take place in Sharjah in March 2023, after the PSL series.
Pakistan National squad will leave for Sharjah in March 2023. T20I between Pakistan and Afghanistan will be held in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. The T20I series Pakistan vs. Afghanistan will end within a week. There is a chance of back-to-back matches in the T20 series against Afghanistan.
The T20I series is under discussion by the Pakistan Cricket Board and Afghanistan Cricket Board. Both Cricket Boards will announce the final schedule for the T20I series that will be held in Sharjah.
Before the T20 series between Pakistan and Afghanistan, both squads would play a three-day ODI tournament. But after Afghanistan qualified for the ODI World Cup series that will be held in 2023, India will represent as the host. So both Cricket Boards changed their final decision and decided to play a T20I series.
Sethi said that He met with the Afghanistan Cricket Board members, and they agreed to play an ODI series, but there was no need to play the ODI series. So both Cricket Boards decided to play a T20I series in Sharjah. Sethi gave the briefing in a pressing conference held in January 2023.
Sethi revealed the discussion that PCB and ACB decided to play the ODI series to increase the points in Pakistan Super League season 8. But now both teams are at an equal level whether Afghanistan wins or Pakistan wins, so Pakistan and Afghanistan Cricket Board decided to play a T20II series in March 2023.
The T20I series Afghanistan vs. Pakistan will start right after the PSL season 8 ends in March. After the government approves the series, both teams will play T20I matches in Sharjah. And both teams will share fifty percent of their income equally.
