New Zealand and Sri Lanka have come face to face. Predicting the next game between the two teams can be a little different because both of them have been quite unpredictable. At first, the New Zealand cricket team was the fan’s favorite as they were winning almost all the games they were playing against the Sri Lankan cricket team.
In the test series between the two teams, New Zealand white-washed Sri Lanka because they won all three test matches. The result was the same in the ODI matches because New Zealand too won the series winning it 2 to 0. Most experts of the game thought that the same would happen in the T20 series too, and New Zealand will manage to beat Sri Lanka and give them a complete whitewash.
However, due to the performance of the two-star players from Sri Lanka Asanka and Perera. Asanka and Parera scored 67 and 52 runs respectfully in the second T20 match and helped Sri Lanka in completing 192 runs. However, the match between the two teams was tied and it lead to a super over. In the super over, New Zealand scored just 8 runs and on the other hand, Sri Lanka scored 12 runs and won the super over as well as the first T20 match.
The third T20 match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka will be held at the Queenstown Cricket Stadium. The weather forecast on match day will not be quite favorable. It is because in the next ten days, the temperature will not rise more than 16 degree Celsius, and there is a very high prediction of rain. If it rains on match day, the predictions can be reversed.
So far the prediction is in the favor of the Sri Lankan team because they performed exceptionally well in the first T20 match. According to some experts of the game, the pitch conditions indicate that it is a bowling pitch.
It means that the Sri Lankan team is at an advantage here because they have great bowlers who can swing the ball at a high pace and can also take quick wickets. Moreover, their batting lineup isn’t strong, and they don’t have players who can hit the ball outside the park. Because the size of the ground is small, it’s an even bigger advantage for the Sri Lankan players because they will be able to hit boundaries easily.
Currently, the Sri Lankan cricket team has just two aggressive batsmen, Asalanka and Kusal Perera scored fifties in the first T20 game against New Zealand. They will hope that the two players have the same momentum in this upcoming game to win it. In addition to the above, the bowlers from the Sri Lankan side still seem to struggle with the bowl. Although in the previous match, they tried to restrict the batsmen, the opposing team still managed to score runs against them.
New Zealand seems to worry a little about their openers because they didn’t manage to score at all. This time Daryl Mitchel was the one who helped New Zealand in giving a 192 runs target to the opposing team. He scored a total of 66 runs from just 44 balls. Furthermore, Tom Latham and Mark Chapman also contributed to the total because they scored 27 and 33 runs respectively.
The bowlers failed because they conceived 192 runs. Although they managed to take wickets, it didn’t matter because their economy was extremely high. They need to work a lot on their bowlers so that they can give lesser runs and take more wickets. Conclusively, it is up to both teams to improve their game and win the series.
