RR vs RCB Match Result 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore Win Their 4th Game of the Season – In a dramatic encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won their fourth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 by seven runs against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on 23rd April 2023.
Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis played a vital role in setting up the game for RCB. The two batsmen took RCB to a total of 189/9 in their 20 overs. In response, RR managed 182/6, falling short by seven runs, even after a valiant effort from their batsmen.
The match was played between two of the strongest teams of IPL 2023, and it lived up to its hype. It was a weird match with rhythmic twists and turns. Although the pitch seemed easy to bat on, it was a tricky one, which RCB managed to get the better of.
Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was a risky move, given that the pitch was expected to slow down. For RCB, Maxwell and du Plessis’ partnership of 127 runs in just 11.1 overs proved to be the game-changer.

In response, RR started off poorly, losing Jos Buttler for a duck in the first over. But Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal put up a brilliant partnership to keep RR in the game. Jaiswal, in particular, played some delightful strokes, hitting three fours and three sixes in his 47 off 31 balls.
Meanwhile, Padikkal continued his excellent form and scored his fourth consecutive fifty of the tournaments, scoring 52 off 41 balls. The two batsmen took RR to a strong position, requiring 98 runs in the last 10 overs.
However, the game changed dramatically in the 11th over. Hasaranga and Willey, who had been introduced into the attack, managed to put the brakes on the scoring. They gave away just 12 runs in the next three overs, and the required run rate kept climbing.
RR lost a couple of quick wickets in the process, including Sanju Samson, who was dismissed by Harshal Patel, and suddenly the momentum shifted towards RCB.
The equation came down to 19 required off the last over, and RR sent in Jurel, their young wicketkeeper-batsman, to face Harshal Patel, who had bowled brilliantly throughout the tournament.
Jurel hit a boundary off the first ball, but Harshal responded with three dot balls in a row, putting the pressure back on RR. Jurel managed a couple of runs off the fifth ball, but the equation was too steep by then, and RR fell short by seven runs.
Harshal was the pick of the bowlers for RCB, taking three wickets for 32 runs in his four overs.
