Kohli and Ashwin will leave later for WTC Finals. Foreign players of Indian Squad will leave for home in batches since Tuesday. The first batch of twenty players will be in the early hours on Tuesday. The set includes mostly the staff members of support, including Rahul Dravid.
The whole squad will leave for World’s Test Championship Finals on 30th May after the grand finale of the Indian Premier League 2023. The players like Mohammad Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Axar Patel will leave in the first batch after evaluation in the playoffs of the IPL 2023.
As season sixteen of the Indian Premier League 2023 will end after the grand finale in India, players will leave for home in batches. The first batch will include the players who have to participate in the final games of the IPL 2023. However, the latter pack consists of the player who ended their journey in the league phase of the Indian Premier 2023.
The plan was to send players immediately after the League phase. The players are organized in groups for traveling. However, some players requested the BCCI to send them to the first group after the IPL grand finale.
The traveling of players towards London will continue till 30th May. As soon as season sixteen ends, all the players participating in the IPL season sixteen will leave for London. There will be no time for Warm up as players will be engaged with each other for the preparation of World’s Test Championship Finals against Australia. The finals of WTC will take place in June at Oval Stadium in London.
All the players of the Indian Premier League are grouped based on their participation in the grand finale, as some have to play roles for their teams on the final day of the IPL 2023.
The famous Indian players Ravichandran Ashwin and Virat Kohli will leave on 24th May as their squads are out of the grand finale of the Indian Premier League 2023. The famous player of Kolkata Knight Riders, Umesh Yadav, will also leave for England in the later batch.
A medium pacer, Akash Depp, and an Off Spinner, Pulkit Narang, will be part of the first group. Left-arm pacers Aniket Choudhary and Prithvi Raj Yarra will be part of the later batch leaving for home.
After the League tournament concluded on Sunday, it was decided that the first batch would leave soon after the League phase ended. However, some members requested the Board of Cricket of India to accept their request to leave India a few days later. Players will leave for home continuously till 30th May. We have arranged departures daily till 30th May, The BCCI said.
On the other hand, Jaydev Unadkat is suffering from an injury. Jaydev will rehab at National Cricket Academy, hoping to his fitness until World’s Test Championship Finals. Jaydev will leave on 27th May 2023. Jaydev will be fit and fine for the World’s Test Championship Finals as he suffers from a minor shoulder injury.
Meanwhile, Mukesh Kumar will leave with first group. Two major players, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ruturaj Gaikwad, will leave after their performance in the playoffs for Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
The news came that players will not get rest after leaving for London, as according to plan, they have to play games with foreign players in London after the grand finale of IPL 2023. However, team India will participate in the final match against Australia at the Oval in London.
