Pakistan marked 500th victory ODI Cricket History

After India and Australia, Pakistan is the third country with 500 wins in the One Day International Cricket series. In the One Day International series-opening game against New Zealand, Pakistan was dominated by five wickets marking 500 wins in ODI Cricket.

In the past ODI Cricket history, Australia has been the number one cricket team with 594 victories in the ODI Cricket. After Australia, India marked 539 wins in the ODI Cricket series earning the second position in cricket history. Pakistan marked 500th victory ODI Cricket History.

Pakistan started the ODI journey in 1973 when they appeared in the first ODI match against England. In their second series match, Pakistan marked the first One Day International win against England. In the opening clash between Pakistan vs. New Zealand, New Zealand opted to bat first, making 288 runs at the fall of seven wickets. The opening pair, Young’s Brisk and Daryl Mitchell scored 113 and 86 runs, respectively, against Pakistan.

While chasing, Fakhar Zaman started the innings against New Zealand with a strong partnership with Imam ul Haq. The thirty-three years old batter Fakhar Zaman played magnificent innings, adding 117 runs at 114 deliveries. On the other hand, Imam ul Haq scored 60 runs from Pakistan at the beginning of the match. The skipper Babar Azam played a magnificent role for Pakistan against New Zealand in the first ODI at-home clash. Babar Azam scored 49 runs before returning to Pavilion.

In the One Day International series, Pakistan will enjoy an upper edge as the team Pakistan comprises a strong and skillful unit against New Zealand. Although New Zealand is a tough competitor, the players must be younger to smash an experienced squad. In the previous T20 series, Pakistan vs. New Zealand, the black caps failed to maintain their position in front of experienced Pakistani bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi, who recently won the PSL title for Lahore Qalanders in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, young Kiwi batters can turn the game for Pakistan as they did in the second T20 match against Pakistan.

In the first ODI clash between Pakistan and New Zealand, Kiwis set a target of 288 runs for Pakistan at the fall of seven wickets. While chasing, Pakistan finished the game in 48.5 overs smashing New Zealand in the first ODI, marking their 500th win.

Later on, Mohammad Rizwan contributed 42 runs at 34 deliveries ending the game with positive results. The magnificent performance helped Pakistan finish its 500 ODI wins and earn third place. Pakistan dominated in overall five hundred One Day International games in cricket history. However, both squads have saved their place in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The upcoming World Cup tournament will be scheduled for October-November. India will be the host country in the forthcoming World Cup tournament 2023.

Under the leadership of Tom Latham, New Zealand earned the top place on the ICC scoreboard marking sixteen of twenty-four games. Meanwhile, Pakistan has ranked fifth on the ICC scoreboard celebrating thirteen wins in twenty-one games. Both teams will be hoping to end the five-day series with good results.

Although New Zealand has failed to mark a victory in the first One Day International clash against Pakistan, Still black caps can bounce back in the next ODI game against Pakistan. Recently both squads have played a three-match T20 series in Pakistan. Green Shirts will look forward to smashing the black caps in the upcoming four ODI games. However, Kiwis can turn the game in the next fifty-over games.
