His consistent performances even led to discussions about a potential comeback in the South African national team for the upcoming 50-over World Cup in India. Du Plessis’ remarkable strike rate of 168.54 in the powerplay was the second best among batters who faced a minimum of 100 balls. With a total of 730 runs in 14 innings, including eight half-centuries, du Plessis showcased his ability to balance consistency and aggressive shot-making.

The partnership between Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis as openers yielded an astonishing 939 runs, equalling the record set by Kohli and AB de Villiers in 2016. Kohli’s back-to-back centuries surpassed Chris Gayle’s record of six IPL centuries, with Kohli now holding the fourth position for the most T20 hundreds. Though RCB faced challenges as a team, these individual achievements provided moments of pride and resilience.
