Gavaskar Predicts RCB’s Krunal Pandya to Stage Bhuvi-Style India Comeback

Gavaskar’s Endorsement for Krunal Pandya

Legendary former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar has praised Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder Krunal Pandya and predicted that he could make a Bhuvneshwar Kumar-style return to the Indian T20I squad. Speaking after an exciting IPL match, Gavaskar highlighted Krunal’s versatile bowling and batting, suggesting his current form in the IPL puts him in the running for India selection.

Krunal Pandya’s IPL Form

This season, Krunal Pandya has been a standout performer for RCB. His crafty left-arm spin has troubled top batters, while his middle-order batting has provided crucial stability under pressure. In recent outings, he has been rewarded with consistent opportunities to bowl in the Powerplay and at the death, and has grabbed those chances with tight overs and vital breakthroughs.

On the batting front, Krunal’s ability to accelerate during the slog overs has added a new dimension to RCB’s lineup. Whether anchoring an innings or playing aggressive cameos, he has shown maturity and awareness of match situations, boosting RCB’s online entertainment quotient and thrilling fans with his style.

Comparison with Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Gavaskar drew parallels between Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who made a successful comeback to India’s T20 side after impressive IPL showings. Bhuvneshwar’s swing and control had once been central to India’s bowling attack, and Gavaskar believes Krunal’s variation and adaptability could mirror that path.

While Bhuvi’s strength lay in his in-swing and death-overs expertise, Krunal brings left-arm spin and power-hitting. Gavaskar noted that India’s management values versatile players who can contribute in both departments, making Pandya a valuable asset for future T20 assignments.

Implications for Team India

If national selectors follow Gavaskar’s suggestion, Krunal Pandya could find himself back in India colours during the upcoming T20I series. His return would strengthen the bench of all-rounders and give the team more options in varied conditions, both at home and abroad.

With India set to face the West Indies in a T20I leg soon, competition for places is intense. Established names like Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav are in contention, but Krunal’s current IPL achievements make a strong case for his inclusion. His all-round skillset aligns well with the team’s strategy to balance batting depth and bowling variety.

Looking Ahead

As IPL progresses, Krunal Pandya will aim to maintain his high standards and cement his comeback credentials. His performances in key encounters will be closely watched by selectors and fans alike, eager for the next wave of sports action from India’s players.

With rewards in the form of national selection at stake, Krunal’s journey offers cricket followers an engaging storyline. If Gavaskar’s prediction comes true, India’s T20 squad could benefit from his spin mastery and batting prowess, enhancing the match excitement for supporters across the country.
