IND vs NED: If Hardik Pandya Is Rested for The Netherlands Match Sunil Gavaskar Has a Replacement for Him
IND vs NED Live Streaming Details; October 27 (Thursday), match begins at 12:30 PM IST.
Sunil Gavaskar, a stalwart of Indian cricket, believes that if Hardik Pandya has a niggle, he should sit out the league-stage match against the Netherlands.
During an interview, Gavaskar also identified Pandya’s replacement. If Pandya is rested for the match, contenders to take his place include Harshal Patel and Deepak Hooda.
India will play the Netherlands in their next match in an effort to increase their chances of reaching the semifinals after their thrilling victory over Pakistan in their opening match of the 2022 T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue are not in any danger from the Netherlands, thus Hardik Pandya might be benched for the match.
During the match against Pakistan, the star all-rounder appeared to be having trouble, and in the penultimate over, he was removed for 40 off of 37. He accomplished his goal with the ball by taking three wickets, but with the bat, he didn’t appear to be in the game.
“Should Bring In Deepak Hooda To Bat at Number 5” Sunil Gavaskar on Hardik Pandya’s Replacement
Sunil Gavaskar advises India to rest Pandya if he is not totally fit. The ICC Hall of Famer also identified Pandya’s replacement for the Netherlands match in his interview with India Today.
“If Hardik has a niggle, it makes sense to rest him. Because the game against South Africa on Sunday will be crucial. So, if anyone has a niggle, you can get them a little fresh for the Sunday game. But, once again, this is a T20 format, and no team should be underestimated.”
“I’d like Mohammad Shami to come and bowl because he hasn’t played much cricket. I think he should come in and practice,” Sunil Gavaskar told India Today while in Australia for the ICC event.
“If Hardik Pandya is not available, you have Dinesh Karthik at number 5, and I believe you should bring in Deepak Hooda and bat him at number 5,” Sunil Gavaskar added.
Since receiving his first India call-up, Hooda has been playing for the national team, suggesting that the team management supports him. However, the batting all-rounder has only been given opportunities when first-choice players are unavailable.
