FIFA World Cup 2022 is just a few days away, and all teams are geared up to show their potential on the biggest stage. And ahead of the mega event, we’re going to predict the best players in the different positions at the mega event.
Becoming Top Goalscorers at a World Cup is a mostly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the strikers, and every player who plays up front wants to score more and more goals at the mega event and make his name.
Let’s take a look at a few players who will compete for the most goals and then predict the winner:
Harry Kane:
As things stand, Harry Kane is the favorite to score the most goals at the mega event. He was the top goalscorers in the 2018 edition as well and can become the first player in history to achieve this feat twice. With 51 goals, he is just two goals behind Wayne Rooney for the all-time English record, and he, of course, has this stat in mind. Furthermore, England’s group stage isn’t challenging, so we can expect the English striker to score 3-4 goals in the group stage alone.
Kylian Mbappe:
Twenty-three years old forward became the youngest French player to score a goal in the mega event when he made his debut in the 2018 World cup, where he won the Best Young Player Award after scoring four goals in the world cup winning route.
Karim Benzema:
Another France forward, Karim Benzema, is a potential top goalscorer at the upcoming mega event. He is in the form of his life with his club Real Madrid and won the prestigious Ballon d’Or last month. But the downside is that he plays for France and will have to share goals with Mbappe.
Lionel Messi:
A surprising statistic is that Lionel Messi has never won World Cup Golden Boot. He has won the most European Golden Boot awards in history (6). Like always, he is in sublime form, and it would be a big mistake to doubt him as he has the talent to become the top scorer at the mega event.
Neymar:
Brazil is the hot favorite the lift the World Cup, and one of the primary reasons behind this is Neymar’s form. He has gained his old form and is just unstoppable at the moment. He is the designated penalty taker and has immense talent around him to help score many goals.
After going through some potential top-scorers recent info, we can predict that Neymar will be the top scorer at the mega event.
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to see some great players at the upcoming world cup, with some best young players included as well, with the likes of Haaland. Still, many other young players will play in the mega event and will compete to win the Young Player Award at the mega event and announce themselves on the biggest stage. Look at the rising stars who can win the “The Best Young Player of the Tournament” award.
Gavi:
Despite of very young age, Gavi plays like a fully mature player on the field and is receiving the deserved praise as well, as he won the Kopa trophy 2022 award last month. Spaniard has reasonable ball control and great vision and can make penetrative passes. He plays a very attacking game, and Spain surely will make the most out of it. The way things stand, he is one of the favorites to win the Best Young Player award at the upcoming World cup.
Jude Bellingham:
19-year-old Bellingham is a player everyone will be excited to watch. He is known for his excellent first touch and quick feet, and he gives sharp passes and drives the team forward. Moreover, his “captain-like” qualities outside the field are as unique as he captains German club Borrusia Dortmund.
So there is no wonder why Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Liverpool are very interested in signing him next summer.
Jude was not given much playing time in the Euro 2020. But FIFA World Cup can indeed be the time for him to shine as an England National Team Player and can win the “Best Young Player” award at the upcoming mega event.
Pedri:
Pedri is another Young brilliant Spanish midfielder everyone is excited to watch. He is already an Olympic Silver Medalist. Pedri is known for his creative passing ability and will try to put up the performances he produced during the 2020 Euro, which he can and win the “Best Player award” as well.
Jamal Musiala:
A product of Chelsea’s football academy and part of England’s national team before, Musiala now represents Germany and plays for German Champions Bayern Munich. He is one of the few players to watch in the upcoming mega event, as he has enough potential to win “The Best Young Player Award.”
Vinicius Jr.:
Brazilian Wonderkid has improved his game greatly in recent months and will be a severe threat to the opponents. At this very young age, he has already helped his side win domestic and European trophies. He scored the winning goal at the Champions League final and was named as Champions League young player of the season by UEFA will try to put up a good show throughout the tournament and win “The Best Young Player” award.
Phil Foden:
Phil Foden is another Wonderkid everyone is excited to watch playing on the biggest stage.
Despite his young age, he plays like a pro and can use this platform properly to announce himself to the world by producing performances he gives for City and winning the “Best young player” award.
After considering the profiles of potential award-winning young players, we predict Pedri will be the “Best Young Player” award.
