BCCI India – What India Needs to Do to Qualify for The ICC World Test Championship: There has been ongoing speculation about the icc world test championship which has been running since last year, but only a few teams will qualify for it. Before talking about the Indian team, let us check the update on the Pakistan cricket team.

The Pakistan cricket team has an ongoing series with the English cricket team. England has toured Pakistan for some test series and one-day international matches. Currently, only two test matches have taken place. One of them was held in Rawalpindi and the other one was held in the Sufi city of Pakistan, Multan.

Till now, Pakistan hasn’t won a single test match against the mighty English players. As a result, the English players lead the series by 2,0 and it is evident that they have won the series.

However, if another test match is added, then it gives Pakistan the chance to at least draw the match, but that doesn’t seem possible. The test match held in Rawalpindi was won by the English cricket team after they had to play on an extremely hard pitch.

Moreover, with improved pitch conditions, England won that match too on a very close margin as Pakistan only needed around 25 runs to win and the English team bowled out the whole team.

In addition to the above, let’s look at some updates from the Indian cricket team. The Indian team is having a one-day international series with the Bangladeshi team as they have toured Bangladesh. A total of three one-day international matches have been played, out of which Bangladesh won 2 and India won one.

As a result, Bangladesh won the series, but couldn’t whitewash it, as India gave a befitting response and scored a massive 409 runs to win the match.

Moving on, let’s now see what the Indian cricket team will do to qualify for the world test championship. If we look at the statistics, the Indian team has only 6 test matches remaining to qualify for the world test championship.

Out of the six test matches, they will have to win all to reach the top two spots in the points table. Out of the six test matches, two will be played against the Bangladeshi cricket team and the remaining four will be played against the Australians.

The 4 test matches with Australia will take place in India. However, things have become tough for the Indians due to the injuries of key players.  From the six matches, if India loses one, they will be out of the championship.

The world test championship will be held in 2023. Most sports journalists are of the fact that it will be held in mid July. The venue hasn’t been decided yet, but experts of the game say that like always, it will be the oval cricket ground which is situated in London.

This gives a massive advantage to the English cricket team as they will be playing on their home ground. The oval has a history and tough teams tend to survive there due to the pitch conditions and the weather.

India does have some bad news because they will be playing without Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Shami, and Jadeja. Some players in the Indian team will be playing test cricket for the first time since their loss to England in the 5th test match. Looking at the points table, we can see that India is in the fourth position. The first team on the points table is Australia followed by England and then Srilanka. India needs to surpass the two teams to make it place in the world test championship.
