It was another unbelievable contest between India and Bangladesh and second match of the series also went down to the wire. Even until the last moments of the match, it was not clear that he was going to win the match. The match had so many twists and turns and was indeed a scintillating contest to watch. India had it all under control when they reduced Bangladesh to 69/6.
However, a rear-guard action from Mahmudullah and Mehedi Hasan brought them back into the innings as Bangladesh got to 271/7 before restricting India to 266/9 to win the match by only 5 runs.
Bangladesh had won the toss and decided to bat first in the second ODI match of the series.

Siraj picked up the second wicket of Litton Das at the score of 39 to dent Bangladesh’s start. Umran Malik, the express fast bowler from Jammu Kashmir, bowled a thunderbolt to dismiss Shanto. Bangladesh were three-down for 52.
Washington Sundar was introduced into bowling and he picked up three wickets in two overs to reduce Bangladesh to 69/6. It seemed like the game was gone for the home side as all their main batsmen got out without doing much.
However, Mahmudullah Riyad and Mehedi Hasan Miraz stabilized the innings with a 144-run partnership. Mahmudullah got out for __ but Mehedi Hasan continued his brilliant hitting to bring up his century and take Bangladesh to 271/7 at the end of their 50 overs.
India’s chase started poorly as they lost quick wickets. King Kohli was undone by the variable bounce of the wicket while Shikhar Dhawan, Washington Sundar and KL Rahul failed to leave an impression. India were four down for 65 in 19 overs.
Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel built a partnership of 107 runs to take India to 172. Shreyas was caught at the boundary rope for 82 while Axar got out right after him for 56. India were in all sorts of troubles as they were restricted to 213-8, with three wickets of Ebadot Hossain.
Rohit Sharma had not come out to bat because of a fractured finger. However, he had no other choice but to make his way to the middle. India needed 41 runs from the last two overs and 20 runs from the last one but fell marginally short. Despite Rohit’s quickfire 51, India fell five runs short of the target.
Bangladesh won the match and the series with an unassailable lead of 2-0.
From 69/6 to winning the match, it was one brilliant performances by the Bangladeshi Tigers.
