Virat Kohli’s star power continues to stand out
Virat Kohli remains one of the biggest names in world cricket, and his influence goes far beyond runs and records. The former India captain has built a reputation as a fierce competitor on the field, but his behaviour off it continues to earn praise from teammates, opponents and young cricketers alike. New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy has now added his voice to the list of those impressed by Kohli, especially after observing his grounded nature during time around Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Duffy, who has shared cricketing moments with players from different backgrounds over the years, described Kohli as a true megastar who still carries himself with remarkable humility. For many fans in India, that belief only strengthens what they already see in Kohli: a player who combines elite performance with a strong, approachable personality.
What impressed Jacob Duffy most
According to Duffy, the biggest takeaway from seeing Kohli up close was not just his intensity, but the way he treated people around him. In a sport where fame often changes how a player is perceived, Kohli’s ability to stay polite, focused and respectful stood out. Duffy’s comments reflect a wider sentiment in cricket that the Indian batting icon has managed to remain connected to the game and the people in it, despite years of global attention.
This kind of praise matters because it comes from a visiting international player, someone who has experienced top-level dressing-room cultures and understands the pressure associated with a high-profile environment. When such a player speaks about Kohli’s humility, it adds another layer to the India star’s already legendary image.
RCB and the Kohli effect
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have long been closely associated with Kohli, and the franchise continues to benefit from his presence both on and off the field. For visiting cricketers like Duffy, the RCB setup offers a close look at how a modern cricket superstar operates in a team environment. Kohli’s commitment to training, preparation and team culture has often been discussed by teammates and support staff.
His influence at RCB is not limited to his batting alone. Young players often look to him for guidance, while senior professionals appreciate the standards he sets in practice and in matches. That combination of leadership, consistency and humility is part of why Kohli is viewed as a megastar in Indian cricket and beyond.
Why Kohli remains a favourite in Indian cricket
In India, Virat Kohli is more than just a cricketer. He is a symbol of passion, discipline and modern sporting excellence. Fans admire his hunger for runs, his energy in the field and his emotional connection with the game. At the same time, stories like Duffy’s remind supporters that Kohli’s greatness is also built on his personality and professionalism.
For the Indian cricket audience, such remarks are especially meaningful because they come from someone outside the usual circle of praise. They reflect how Kohli continues to leave an impression not only with his performances, but also with his conduct in team spaces. In a sport that celebrates both skill and character, that balance is what helps him remain so influential.
More than just a cricketing icon
Kohli’s journey has made him one of the most recognisable sporting figures in the country. Whether he is representing India or sharing the dressing room atmosphere at RCB, his presence carries weight. Yet, the latest comments from Jacob Duffy show that the India great still finds ways to surprise people with how ordinary and respectful he remains despite his extraordinary status.
As Indian cricket continues to move through a busy international calendar, Kohli’s name will keep drawing attention wherever he plays. For fans in India, the message is simple: the megastar label is justified not just because of his achievements, but because he continues to conduct himself like a grounded professional who respects the game and the people around him.
